Kashubia comprises not only the part of coast to the northwest of Gdańsk, but also the picturesque lakes of the Szwajcaria Kaszubska region. In this characteristic post-glacial landscape with hills up to 200 m above sea level, there are almost 250 lakes. At the same time, it is one of the largest forest areas in Poland. The whole region is scarcely populated. Narrow, rarely frequented roads run in the vicinity of country farms and through well maintained villages.
