Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski is a town in central Poland with 79,200 inhabitants (1995). The main industry is manufacture of iron. Situated in the Swietokrzyskie Voivodship (since 1999), previously in Kielce Voivodship (1975-1998).
Culture:
Culture plays the special role in the lives of the citizens of Ostrowiec. There are different institutions and places shaped by the interesting talented people and varied artistic offers. The main roles played: Municipal Cultural Centre Office of Artistic Exhibitions, The Museum of History and Antropology with the forest reserve in Krzemionki. Public Library- has located in different part of the town. Houses of Culture – children can get involved in the dance classes, drama classes, classes of art and modelling etc., literature and general knowledge competitions are also organized.
The important influance upon the cultural development of the town also have the Musical School of the primary level and the State Artistic Centre.
